Discgolfreview.com has a great article on getting started in the world of disc golf. If you are a beginner it’s an excellent read. The article talks about technique and give a basic disc golf terminology to get you up to speed.
There are two distinctly different driving techniques out there. The first of which is the most common and known as the “Reach Back Method.” The other technique is known as the “Bent Elbow Technique.” Success with each technique depends heavily upon your ability level and body shape. While I can’t say which technique will work best for you, here is some info describing both forms.

We are looking for a good set of DIY Disc Golf Basket plans for all of you “do it yourself” disc golfers out there. To our surprise there are slim pickins on the internet along the lines of disc golf basket plans. However we were able to round up a plain and simple guide to making your own for about $80 with standard everyday stuff. Orsdiscgolf.com has put together the guide found here. The guide includes a printable version for easy construction away from the computer. We would be interested in seeing the results of your DIY disc golf projects. If you have done something like this send us your photos, or links and we will post them in a follow up post. In the mean time the plans should get you started.

There is an initial fee of $60 large and each disc will run you seven clams each but it’s worth it to show off your unique style on the course. We cant wait to get our hands on some of these. I know we got a few ideas (Disc Golf Earth Logo anyone?).

Times Daily: ST. FLORIAN — Like many who have played the game of disc golf, it only took Dwayne Davis one round to become hooked.
He built his own 12-hole course on land he owns in the Happy Hollow area north of St. Florian.
“I grew up throwing the Frisbee,” Davis said.
He became hooked on the game and started playing regularly, getting to know other local players and competing in tournaments in Florence and surrounding areas.
